Jasmeet Bains for Assembly

Latino Legislative Leaders Rally to Re-elect Dr. Jasmeet Bains

Today, Dr. Jasmeet Bains’ campaign announced that a bevy of elected Latino leaders from across California has thrown its early support behind Dr. Bains’ re-election to the 35th Assembly District.

“Dr. Jasmeet Bains is the clear choice to continue serving Central Valley families in the State Assembly,” said Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes. “Dr. Bains has worked to ensure the Valley’s neighborhoods are safe, that we fight the fentanyl epidemic, and protect and create good paying jobs. I’m proud to endorse Dr. Bains for another term in the Assembly.”

The lengthy and still growing list of Latino leaders supporting Dr. Bains includes:

  • Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes

  • Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil

  • Senator Susan Rubio

  • Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry

  • Assemblymember David Alvarez

  • Assemblymember Lisa Calderon

  • Assemblymember Juan Carrillo

  • Assemblymember Wendy Carrillo

  • Assemblymember Liz Ortega

  • Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco

  • Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva

  • Assemblymember Eloise Gomez Reyes

  • Assemblymember Blanca Rubio

  • Assemblymember Miguel Santiago

  • Assemblymember Avelino Valencia

  • Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua

  • Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur

The daughter of immigrant parents from India, Dr. Jasmeet Bains grew up in the Valley and watched her father build a business from the ground up, starting as an auto mechanic and ultimately owning successful car dealerships. Today, Dr. Bains is a family doctor providing primary healthcare as well as addiction treatment throughout the Valley and a champion for children, fighting to improve health outcomes for vulnerable communities while increasing opportunities for all. A political newcomer, Dr. Jasmeet Bains was first elected to represent the 35th Assembly District in 2022 by an overwhelming margin of victory, becoming the first Sikh American and woman of Indian American descent to be elected to the State Legislature.

March 5, 2024 is Election Day.
